Getting started with Titan Drive

This guide helps you get started with installing and configuring Titan Drive, our backup solution for your reports and preferences.

Titan Drive keeps all your reports, user settings, QuickLists, signatures, and more all in one place — making it easy to recover from a hardware disaster or upgrade to a new computer. This guide walks you through the setup and use of Titan Drive.

Make sure you're on the latest update for TOTAL first! Otherwise, you may not have access to the Titan Drive interface shown below.

Part I — Install

  1. Open TOTAL.
  2. Click Tools and select Configure Settings.

  3. Select Titan Drive from the list of categories on the left. Then, click Install Titan Drive.

  4. Enter your a la mode Username and Password on the next screen.
  5. Click I Accept to agree to the End User License Agreement.

Titan Drive starts installing right away. When this finishes, expand the panel below for instructions on configuring your settings.

Part II — Configure

  1. Open TOTAL.
  2. Click Tools and select Configure Settings.

  3. Select Titan Drive from the list of categories on the left. Then, enter your a la mode Username and Password at the top (A), and a notification email (B).

    • To enable automatic backups of your reports, check the box next to Enable scheduling and set the time in the Scheduling section to a time when your computer is normally on.
    • Choose the specific folders you want Titan Drive to monitor in the Watched Folders section.
    • Finally, to back up your preferences, check the box next to Include settings, preferences, and databases during backup.
  4. Once you're done, click Save & Close.

Part III — Upload / Download Titan Drive Reports

Uploading

If scheduling is enabled for Titan Drive, your automatic upload runs in the background at the next scheduled time.

To manually upload, select the report(s) you want to upload in your Appraisal Desktop, and click Send to Titan Drive.

If you want to upload multiple reports, hold down the Ctrl Key and click to select each report. Or, to select a group of reports, hold down the Shift key, and click the first and last report in the group.

Downloading

To download a report from Titan Drive, access your stored reports via TitanAppraisal.com. Once you log in, you can download files and open them in TOTAL as needed.

Part IV — Upload / Download Preferences

Uploading

When you enable scheduling for Titan Drive, you also have the option to Include settings, preferences, and databases during backup. This box tells Titan Drive to back up your TOTAL preferences at the next scheduled time.

To manually upload your preferences, click Start, [All] Programs, a la mode Titan Drive, and select Backup Your Preferences. Titan Drive automatically gathers your preferences and uploads them to our servers. After it's done, click Finish.


Downloading

To retrieve your preferences once they're backed up, click Start, [All] Programs, a la mode Titan Drive, and select Recover Your Preferences

If you're using Windows 8 or Windows 10, begin typing Backup Your Preferences or Recover Your Preferences from the Start menu/screen and press Enter.

Part I — Install

  1. Log in to your alamode.com account here and click Download Products on the left.
  2. Look for Titan Drive Client in your list of products and click Download.

    Click Download

  3. Run the installation file after you download it. If you're not sure how to do this, choose your web browser from the tabs below: 
    1. After you click the Download button, choose a location to save the file (such as your Windows Desktop), and click Save.
    2. Then, press Ctrl + J on your keyboard and click TitanDriveSetup.exe.

    Now follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the install.

    1. After you click the Download button, click Save File when prompted.

    2. Then, press Ctrl + J on your keyboard and double-click TitanDriveSetup.exe.

    3. Click OK when the Open Executable File window appears.

      Click OK

    Now follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the install.

    After you click the Download button, click Run.

    Then, follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the install.

    1. After you click the Download button, click Save.

    2. Then, click Run.

    Now follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the install.

  4. When this finishes, expand the panel below for instructions on configuring your settings.

Part II — Configure

Once everything is installed, you're ready to configure Titan Drive.

To configure Titan Drive, click Start, [All] Programs, a la mode Titan Drive, and select Configure Titan Drive. The Configuration Wizard automatically takes you through the process. Click Next after reviewing each step. Click here for step‑by‑step instructions in the Titan Drive User's Guide.

While we're transitioning from Vault to Titan Drive, various file names, buttons, and settings still refer to Vault and Exact. Even though they say Vault, these buttons and settings are also used for Titan Drive. The Vault and Exact references will be replaced in a future update.

To configure automatic backup of your preferences, click Start, [All] Programs, a la mode Titan Drive, and select Configure Exact. Then click Next to proceed through the steps. Click here for step‑by‑step instructions in the Titan Drive User's Guide.

If you're using Windows 8, begin typing Configure Titan Drive or Configure Exact from the Start screen and press Enter to launch the Configuration Wizard.

Part III — Upload / Download Titan Drive Reports

Uploading

If scheduling is enabled for Titan Drive, your automatic upload runs in the background at the next scheduled time.

While we're transitioning from Vault to Titan Drive, various file names, buttons, and settings still refer to Vault. Even though they say Vault, these buttons and settings are also used for Titan Drive. The Vault references will be replaced in a future update.

To manually upload, select the report(s) you want to upload in your Aurora Appraisal Desktop (1), and click Send to Vault (2).


Downloading

To download a report from Titan Drive, access your stored reports via TitanAppraisal.com. Once you log in, you can download files and open them in WinTOTAL as needed.
