There may be a time when you want to either move your MLS Text File templates (MLS Map Files) to another computer, or share them with a coworker or colleague.  This document helps you back up and move the MLS Text File template to another computer.

To complete the steps in this document, you'll need a removable storage device, such as a USB flash drive or external hard drive.

Part 1: Copy templates to your storage device

Follow the steps below to copy your MLS Text File templates to your removable storage device.

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows Key + R to open the Run window.

  2. Type  %tsa6%  in the Open: field, and then click OK.

  3. In the Tech Support Assistant window, click the Common Paths tab at the top, locate the Data Files: path, and then click the Open button to the right.

  4. In the Windows Explorer window that appears, right‑click the ConversionTemplates folder and select Copy.
If you only wish to copy a single template file or a group of files instead of copying the entire folder, open the ConversionTemplates folder, and then open the TextConverterReportConverter folder to select and copy your files.
  5. Now, navigate to your USB flash drive, and choose Paste.

Part 2: Paste templates to the new location

Now that your MLS Text File templates are located on your removable storage device, simply plug the device into the computer you are transferring them to, and then repeat the same steps.

  1. Navigate to your removable device, right‑click the ConversionTemplates folder (or MLS template files) you previously transferred, and then select Copy.
  2. Then, follow steps 1 through 3 in Part 1 to navigate to the correct file location on the second computer.
  3. Once you've opened the Data files location from the Tech Support Assistant, right‑click on a blank space and select Paste.
REMEMBER:  If you only selected one or a few files from the MLS Text File templates location, you'll need to open the ConversionTemplates folder, then the TextConverterReportConverter folder before pasting your files.  If these folders don't exist, it means an MLS Text File template hasn't been created yet,so you'll need to create the folders before pasting.

That's it!  After moving the MLS Text File template from your removable media to the new computer, you’re done.  All you have to do now is open TOTAL on the new computer, and go to the MLS Text File importer and your template will be there for you in the drop‑down.
