Draw Angles

TOTAL Sketch provides several ways to draw or adjust angles in your sketch:

1. In a sketch, click the arrow next to the Draw icon ( ) in the toolbar, or choose the Draw panel on the right side of the screen and select either Area Line or Free‑form Line.

   

2. Click the sketch canvas, or position your cursor and press Enter to anchor the starting point for your new line and begin drawing.

3. When you're ready to draw an angled line you have two options:

   • Draw the length and angle — Type the length of the line (in your preferred units of measure), press L or R on the keyboard to indicate whether you want the line to angle left or right respectively (oriented to the direction of the line) , and type the degree of the angle. Then, press Enter to draw and set the angled line. For instance, if you're drawing in feet, type 10r45 to draw a 10 ft line that angles 45° to the right.

   • Draw the rise and run — Type the length of the rise of the line and press the directional arrow on your keyboard that corresponds to the direction of that line, but do not press Enter. Then, type the run of the line and, again, press the appropriate directional arrow key on your keyboard to indicate the direction of the run. If you need to adjust the line, use the directional arrows on the keyboard to fine tune the line length and/or angle before pressing Enter (However, you can always switch to Modify mode and make further adjustments later). When you're ready to anchor the end point of the angled line, press Enter to set it. For example, to draw a line with a rise of 10 down and a run of 15 right, you'd type 10, down (), 15, right (), followed by the Enter key.
