Workflow Examples

Sometimes it helps to have the entire process outlined in order to visualize the workflow and sync process. Therefore, we've listed the basic steps, in order, to show the sequence of events you can expect when using TOTAL for Mobile.

Workflow if you start a file in TOTAL:

It's likely you'll start most of your files while in the office because this gives you the ability to merge and clone from existing reports. Then, while you're in the field, use TOTAL for Mobile to collect field data. After transferring the file back to your desktop computer, add the finishing touches before submitting your appraisal.

  1. In TOTAL's Appraisal Desktop, click New and fill out the order details.
  2. If you wish to merge in data from another report, click Merge, choose the report and merge options you want to use, and merge the reports.
  3. Fill out any other pertinent areas of the report, and then save and close the report.
  4. Once you have returned to the Appraisal Desktop, simply right‑click the report you just created and click Upload. Click here for complete step‑by‑step instructions of the upload process with images.
  5. Once the file has finished uploading, open TOTAL for Mobile, tap a report, and press Download to download an individual report. If you don't see your report, tap the refresh icon (  ) in the file manager to auto‑detect any new files available on the cloud. You can also tap the menu icon (  ) on the upper left and choose the option to Download New Files to download all available files from the cloud simultaneously.   6. Once the file has been downloaded from the cloud, simply tap the file name and press Open to open the report and use the features in TOTAL for Mobile to collect field data.
  7. When you have finished collecting field data, tap the menu icon (  ) and press Save & Close.
  8. From the File Manager, tap a report and press Upload to upload an individual report, or press the menu icon (  ) on the upper left and tap Upload Changed Files to simultaneously upload all files that are ready to be uploaded to the cloud.
  9. When the file(s) finish uploading, return to TOTAL's Appraisal Desktop, click the Mobile Sync drop‑down, and select Download. Then, select a report from the list and click Download to download the file from the cloud. Click here for more information about the available options when downloading files from the cloud.
  10. When you return to TOTAL's Appraisal Desktop, open the file, and add the finishing touches to your report.
Workflow if you start a file in TOTAL for Mobile:

If you're out in the field and receive a new assignment, but don't have access to your templates, you can still start the file in TOTAL for Mobile and then merge with a template once you've synced the file back to TOTAL.

  1. Open TOTAL for Mobile, and tap the plus sign (  ) on the upper right to create a new file.
  2. Enter a report description, select the form layout, tap Create File, and proceed to collect the pertinent data from the field.
  3. When you're finished, press the menu icon (  ) and press Save & Close.
  4. From the File Manager, tap a report and press Upload to upload an individual report, or press the menu icon (  ) on the upper left and tap Upload Changed Files to simultaneously upload all files that are ready to be uploaded to the cloud.
  5. When the file(s) finish uploading, return to TOTAL's Appraisal Desktop, click the Mobile Sync drop‑down, and select Download. Then, select a report from the list and click Download to download the file from the cloud.
