Rooms

The Room Analysis tools in TOTAL for Tablet PC greatly simplify the process of noting a home's room breakdown by offering directed data collection tools and integration with TOTAL for Tablet PC's built in sketcher. You can add rooms to your file in two ways:

• By entering the data through the Room Analysis tab in TOTAL for Tablet PC's Data tools
• By labeling rooms in your sketch as you draw the home. This option is only available in TOTAL for Tablet PC.

 

	Adding Rooms from Room Analysis

To add room breakdowns to your file from the Room Analysis tab in TOTAL for Tablet PC's Data tools:

1. With a file open in TOTAL for Tablet PC, click the Data tab.
2. In the Data tab, click the Room Analysis tab.
3. Click the Add a Room button.
4. In the screen that appears, select a Room Description from the drop-down list.

   		Hint:  For your convenience, the Room Description list is identical to the set of room labels available in TOTAL for Tablet PC's sketcher.

5. Enter the remaining details about the room.

   

6. If you have a photo of the room that you want to include in the room's details, click the Add Photo button, Browse out to the photo, enter any other details pertinent to the photo, and click OK to save it into your room.
7. When finished entering the room's details, click OK to save the room.

 

	Adding Rooms from Sketch

If you use TOTAL for Tablet PC on a tablet PC, you have an additional way to add rooms to your report. To add a room from TOTAL for Tablet PC's sketcher:

1. With a file open in TOTAL for Tablet PC, click the Sketch tab.
2. Draw or edit your sketch as necessary.
3. Then, to add a room to your file, click the Labels tab in the Sketch Panel to the right of the screen.
4. Select a room label and drag your cursor to the desired location on your sketch and click to place it.
5. Once the label is set, select the Modify option in the top toolbar and click anywhere outside the label and then click the new link label for the room you added.
6. In the screen that appears, select a Room Description from the drop-down list.
   
   

   		Hint:  For your convenience, the Room Description list is identical to the set of room labels available in TOTAL for Tablet PC's Room Analysis tool.

   
   
7. Enter the remaining details about the room.
8. If you have a photo of the room that you want to include in the room's details, click the Add Photo button, Browse out to the photo, enter any other details pertinent to the photo, and click OK to save it into your room.
9. When finished entering the room's details, click OK to save the room.

 

	Deleting & Editing Rooms

Once you've added a room to your file, you can easily edit or delete it as necessary.

 

There are two ways to edit a room:

• From the Data tab in TOTAL for Tablet PC, click the Room Analysis tab and choose the room you wish to edit to open it.
• From the Sketch tab in TOTAL for Tablet PC, click the link label for the room you wish to edit to open it.

 

To delete a room:

1. From the Data tab in TOTAL for Tablet PC, click the Room Analysis tab.
2. Choose the red X to the right of the room you wish to delete and confirm that you want to delete the room.
