As you're drawing walls in your sketch, you can specify the angle of any wall
while you're sketching.
- In a sketch, enter a length
for the angled wall.
- When you do, you'll notice the angle button becomes
available. Tap angle. If you're using an iPhone or a similar
device with a smaller screen, tap the fn button, and then
press angle.
- In the dialog that appears, use the number keys to specify the degree of
the angle you're drawing. You can also tap any of the angle shortcuts to
quickly select a common angle.
- Once you have entered or selected the degree of the angle, use the diagram
and tap to indicate the direction of the angle.
Now, a new wall appears that extends the length you entered, with the angle
and direction you specified.
To draw an angled line using the rise and run of the line:
- Tap the sketch canvas to place
your cursor and access the sketch keyboard.
- Using the number keys, enter the length of the line in your preferred unit
of measurement and swipe the screen, or tap a directional arrow to indicate
the direction of the "run" line.
- Before pressing enter, type the length of the "rise" line in your
preferred unit of measurement and swipe the screen, or tap a directional arrow
to indicate the direction of the "rise" line.
- When you're satisfied with the angled line, press Enter,
or tap a blank area of the sketch canvas to anchor the point.
If you make a mistake or need to start over, simply press the
Undo key to go back a step, or switch to Modify mode ( ), select the line, and press
Delete to remove the line altogether.
To draw an angled line using the line length and angle:
- Tap the sketch canvas to place
your cursor, type the length of the wall, swipe the screen, or tap a
directional arrow to indicate the direction of the wall, and press
Enter to anchor your point.
- Press the Modify icon ( ) to enter Modify Mode. If you're using an
iPhone or a similar device with a smaller screen, press the mode icon on your
sketch keyboard and select Modify.
- Now, tap the starting point of the line to access the
Angle and Length settings at the top of the
screen.
- Use the Angle and Length arrows to make
adjustments to the line incrementally, or tap the field, type a specific
numeric adjustment using the keyboard, and press Enter.
