Custom Room Details

 
     

Each type of room in TOTAL for Tablet PC comes pre-configured with a list of common room amenities that you can document in your file. Since construction tends to differ widely from one end of the country to the other, however, TOTAL for Tablet PC provides a simple tool to adjust the default set of amenities in each room. Depending on the type of PC you're using you can edit your room details in up to two ways:

 

     
 

Customizing Room Details from Room Analysis

 
     

To customize a room's details from TOTAL for Tablet PC's Room Analysis tools:

  1. With a file open in TOTAL for Tablet PC, select the Data tab.
  2. In the Data tab, click the Room Analysis tab.
  3. Click the Add a Room button to create a new room or choose one of the existing rooms in your file to edit it.
  4. In the room details, select a room type from the Room Description drop-down to display the room details in the Room Features box.
  5. Click the Customize button at the bottom of the screen to edit the selected room type.
  6. In the screen that appears, you have several options:
    • To add a room item from the Available Items list to the Active Items list, select it and click the left arrow between the lists.
    • To remove a room from the Active Items list, select it and click the right arrow between the two lists.
    • To reorder the items in the Active Items list, select an item in the list and click an up or down arrow to move it.
    • To create a new room item, click the Add button below the Available Items list. Then, enter a name for the new feature, indicate whether it is a Critical Field and choose OK to save it to the Available Items list.
    • To remove a custom feature from the Available Items list, select it in the list. Then, click the Delete button below the list to remove it.
    • To rename a feature or toggle its Critical status, select it in the Available Items list. Then, click the Edit button below the list, make your changes, and click OK to save them.

  7. When finished with your changes, click OK to save them.

 

     
 

Customizing Room Details from Sketch

 
     

To customize a room's details from TOTAL for Tablet PC's sketcher:

  1. With a file open in TOTAL for Tablet PC, click the Sketch tab.
  2. Select an existing room label to edit the room or create a new room.
  3. In the room details, select a room type from the Room Description drop-down to display the room details in the Room Features box.
  4. Click the Customize button at the bottom of the screen to edit the selected room type.
  5. In the screen that appears, you have several options:
    • To add a room item from the Available Items list to the Active Items list, select it and click the left arrow between the lists.
    • To remove a room from the Active Items list, select it and click the right arrow between the two lists.
    • To reorder the items in the Active Items list, select an item in the list and choose an up or down arrow to move it.
    • To create a new room item, choose the Add button below the Available Items list. Then, enter a name for the new feature, indicate whether it is a Critical Field and click OK to save it to the Available Items list.
    • To remove a custom feature from the Available Items list, select it in the list. Then, click the Delete button below the list to remove it.
    • To rename a feature or toggle its Critical status, select it in the Available Items list. Then, click the Edit button below the list, make your changes, and click OK to save them.

  6. When finished with your changes, click OK to save them.
