Moving your custom TOTAL Sketch labels and preferences to a new PC

This document explains how to move custom labels and preferences in TOTAL Sketch to a new PC.

Follow the instructions below to back up and move TOTAL Sketch's labels and preferences to another computer or to share them with a colleague.

To complete the steps in this document, you need a removable storage device such as a USB flash drive or an external hard drive.

Backup your labels and preferences

  1. Plug your removable storage device into the computer where your custom Sketch labels and preferences are stored.
  2. Then, on your keyboard, press the Windows Key + R to open a Run window.

  3. Type (or copy and paste) %userprofile%\AppData\Local\alamode and click OK.

  4. In the window that appears, highlight the Common folder. Then, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and select the DAVINCI folder.
  5. With both folders selected, right‑click either of the highlighted folders and choose Copy.

  6. Now, navigate to your storage device, right-click a blank area, and choose Paste.


Move your labels and preferences

Now that your custom TOTAL Sketch labels and preferences are on your removable storage device, you simply need to transfer them.  Here’s how:

  1. Plug your removable storage device into the new computer.
  2. Navigate to your removable storage media, highlight the Common folder, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard, and select the DAVINCI folder.
  3. With both folders selected, right‑click either of the highlighted folders and choose Copy.

  4. Now, press Windows Key + R to open a Run window.

  5. Type (or copy and paste) %userprofile%\AppData\Local\alamode and click OK.
  6. Right‑click a blank area and choose Paste.  If you're prompted to overwrite anything, simply choose the option to replace the files in the destination.

That’s it!  Once you've copied and pasted the folders to the new computer, TOTAL Sketch's custom labels and preferences are available for use on the new machine.
