Changing default area label placement in TOTAL Sketch
This document explains how to change your settings so that TOTAL Sketch places area labels on your sketch as you draw.

By default, TOTAL Sketch doesn't automatically add area labels to your sketch when you close and define an area. You can change this setting, though.
You can turn on area labels globally for every sketch you create, and for specific area types like floors or garage. Choose one of the panels below for instructions:

That's it! Your area labels now appear automatically when you close and define an area.
Follow the instructions below to change how area labels are displayed for specific area types.
That's it! Each new area you draw will match the settings you just chose. These settings persist even after you close TOTAL Sketch.
If you chose to uncheck Show area name and calculations, this also turns off any default area types you set up.
