When entering a street address, city, state, or Zip code, that differs from USPS records, you may notice that the text will change as soon as you leave the field.  However, in certain circumstances, you need to keep the original, non‑standardized address.  Follow the instructions below to stop TOTAL from overwriting this information.

Choose a panel below for instructions on how to disable this setting on a per-report basis or to disable the setting for all reports:

Disable setting for a single report

Follow the instructions below to disable the automatic USPS Conversion for a single report.

  1. While you're in a report go to the Assignment PowerView and place your cursor in the address, city, state, or Zip code field that you want to lock into place.
  2. Enter the information as you want it to appear and press Ctrl + L on your keyboard.  Or click the padlock icon (  ) on your toolbar.

  3. Repeat these steps for the address field(s) on each form in your report where you want to disable the automatic USPS Conversion.

That's it!  Once you've locked the field(s) from transfers, the color of the field(s) changes to green and the information now stays in the field(s) as it was entered.  Repeat this process for any subsequent reports where you need to retain the original address information.

Disable setting for all reports

Follow the instructions below to disable the automatic USPS Conversion for all reports.

  1. From the Appraisal Desktop, or while you're in a report, click Tools and select Configure Settings.

    Configure Settings

  2. In the settings window, select Report Transfer from the list of categories on the left.
  3. In the Report Transfer options, locate USPS data options, uncheck the Convert address to USPS standard option, and then click Save & Close.

  4. Inside the report, go to the field in question and re-enter the address, city, state, or Zip code.

That's it!  The information now stays in the field as it was entered.  Keep in mind - this setting is a Global setting, meaning it affects all future reports.  To re‑enable this setting, repeat steps 1-3 and re‑check the Convert address to USPS standard checkbox.
