Moving just your Recent Responses

This document shows you how to locate and copy your Recent Responses to backup or move them to a new installation of TOTAL.

If you only want to move your Recent Responses from one installation of TOTAL to another, follow the instructions below:

First, make sure you have a USB flash drive, external hard drive, or other removable storage device available and plugged into your computer.  We'll use that to transfer your Recent Responses from one computer to the other.
  1. On your keyboard, press Windows Key + R.

  2. In the Open: field, type %tsa6% and click OK to open the Tech Support Assistant.

  3. In the top left, click the Common Paths tab.

  4. Click the Open button to the right of Data Files.

  5. In the window that opens, double–click the Users folder to open it.  Then, find the folder that corresponds to your TOTAL username and open it.
  6. Right–click the Recents folder and choose Copy.

  7. Now, browse to your removable storage device.  Then, right‑click and Paste your Recent Responses folder.

Once the transfer process has completed and TOTAL has been installed on your new computer, move the removable storage device to your new computer and continue with the instructions below.

  1. Browse to your removable storage device.  Then, right‑click and Copy the Recent Responses folder.
  2. On your keyboard, press Windows Key + R.

  3. In the Open: field, type %tsa6% and click OK to open the Tech Support Assistant.

  4. In the top left, click the Common Paths tab.

  5. Click the Open button to the right of Data Files.

  6. In the window that opens, double–click the Users folder to open it.  Then, find the folder that corresponds to your TOTAL username and open it.
  7. Right–click the empty space and choose Paste.

That's it!  Your Recent Responses are now available in TOTAL.
