When launching Apex from within WinTOTAL Aurora, you may receive a Runtime Error 217. This is generally caused by Apex being "stuck" in your PCs memory and not being able to be launched. To resolve this issue, you must close any instances of Apex that may be stuck with Windows' Task Manager. Here's how:
On November 1st, 2006 Apex took over the sales and support of their sketching software. As a result, a la mode is no longer able to provide technical support for any Apex issues not directly related to integration with our products. Please contact Apex at 888‑308‑2722 for assistance with all other issues.
Keep in mind that Legacy Apex (Apex IV v2 and Apex IV v3) was not designed to run on a 64‑bit operating system or Windows 7, so Apex v4 Medina or newer will be needed. If you plan to purchase a new version of Apex, and you haven't purchased a sketch license or VIP integration in the past, you must purchase a TOTAL Sketch Pro License from TOTAL Store to integrate it with your formfilling software. Click here for more information about TOTAL Sketch Pro Licenses.
Alternatively, you can use TOTAL Sketch, our free, full‑featured sketching application that comes with WinTOTAL and TOTAL. Click here for the TOTAL Sketch user manual.
Before you begin, be sure to save your report in WinTOTAL.
If you're using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you may need to click More Details in the lower left of the window.
If ending the processes doesn't work, save any work you have open and restart your computer. Or, contact our support department at 1‑800‑ALAMODE.
That's it! After ending the process for SketchAgentv1 and wtapi, simply launch Apex again from WinTOTAL and continue working in your report as normal.
