a la mode technologies, llc. is not responsible for any loss of data that might occur by following these directions.  Be sure any data files are backed up.  This is important if you intend on reinstalling the software and need all of your data.

Additionally, our support technicians are unable to assist you with this process.  If you aren't comfortable proceeding with the steps in this document, contact a local technician.

Keep in mind — On a workstation the databases are not local on the machine.  The program was previously able to access database information through a network connection to another computer.  When installing Aurora as a standalone, blank databases will be created so previous reports, images and comparable information will not be carried over to the new installation.  Back up all of your data or make sure you will still have access to it after re‑installing, before you uninstall Aurora.

If you installed Aurora as a workstation installation, and need to reinstall it as a standalone installation, there are a few things you need to do before reinstalling Aurora.

  1. Close out of any open programs.  Then, press Windows Key + R on your keyboard to launch a Run window.

    WindowsR

  2. In the Open field, type %windir% and click OK

  3. Now, locate the alamode.ini file (if you have file extensions hidden, the file is simply called alamode).  Right click the file and select Rename.  Then, rename the file to oldalamode.ini

  4. Once the alamode.ini is renamed, run the Wintotal Aurora installer.  Click here for instructions.

That's it!  Aurora is now installed as a standalone installation.  The next step is to transfer your data.  Click here for instructions on backing up and moving with Vault.  Or, click here for instructions if you don't have Vault.
