How to export data from Flexmls® for Titan Analytics

This document explains how to export data from Flexmls® and create a CSV file for use in Titan Analytics.

MLS vendors integrate with MLS boards across the country to provide the interfaces you use to search for properties in your area.  While you may be familiar with MLS boards like Sandicor or Arizona Regional MLS (ARMLS), what you interact with on the screen is provided by the MLS vendor.  Major vendors include RapattoniMLS, Paragon®, Matrix™, Flexmls®, and Navica.

Determining the MLS vendor is simple.  Typically, these names are located on the home page or login screen of your local MLS board website, either near your MLS logo or at the bottom of the page.  If you have trouble locating your vendor, contact your MLS board for help determining which MLS vendor they use.

The following instructions are for Flexmls®.  If this isn't the vendor your MLS board uses, click here for a complete list of vendors.

We provide these instructions as a courtesy to our customers, and are not in any way affiliated with the MLS boards or MLS vendors outlined in our instructions.  Steps contained in these documents are accurate to the best of our knowledge.

Follow the instructions below to create an export template in Flexmls®, export and save your data as a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file, and then import the property data to Titan Analytics.

Part I — Create your template (first-time setup)

You only need to create an export template once.  After you save it, you can reuse the template each time you export data from your MLS.  If you already have a template for Titan Analytics, jump to Part II.

  1. Log in to your MLS.
  2. Click the Preferences tab in the upper right, and use the drop‑down menu to select My Exports.

  3. Click New to create a new export template.

  4. Enter a name for the export template in the Export Name field — such as Titan Analytics — and then select the property type(s) to include in the template.  Click Next.

  5. From the fields listed in the Available Fields column on the left, select a field and click Add to include it in your Template Layout column on the right.  Below is the list of required fields that must be included:

    It doesn't matter in which order these fields are added.  Once the required fields have been added, you can also include any additional fields that might be useful for identifying outliers.

    Additionally, the field names listed below won't always be an exact match to the field names listed by your MLS.  Titan Analytics knows the different ways an MLS will say Closing Price or Listing Date, for example, and can decipher the data.

  6. When you're finished, review and verify the Template Layout column on the right.  Then, click Save to save the template.

Part II — Export to file

Once you've saved your export template, use it to export the property data from your MLS search for use in Titan Analytics.

  1. Log in to your MLS.
  2. Click the Search tab in the upper left and enter your search criteria using the Edit Search tab on the upper right.  Be sure to mark all property statuses you want to include in your data, and include listing and sold properties from at least the last 365 days.
  3. Now, run your search as you normally would, review and select the results to include in your export, and click Export on the upper right.
  4. In step one of the export page, select which data to export (all results or selected results).  Then, use the Custom Text Export drop‑down menu in step 2 to select the Titan Analytics template you created in step 4 of Part I above.

  5. Now, enter the verification text displayed in step 3 and click Export.
  6. Save the export file to a convenient location such as your Windows desktop so that you can easily retrieve it in Titan Analytics.

Part III — Import data
