Opening attached directory reports from a mapped drive prompts an alert saying that multiple reports exist.

For now, this is just a temporary "workaround."  We're working on an update to the software that will solve this problem entirely.  Until then, these instructions will help.

Opening a report from an attached mapped network drive causes multiple entries to appear in TOTAL's Most Recently Used list and displays a prompt stating that Multiple Reports Exist.

Instructions

To resolve this issue, simply detach the mapped network directory and attach the UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path as a directory. Follow the instructions below to find the UNC path.

  1. On your keyboard, press  Windows Key + R.
  2. Type cmd into the Open: field and press Enter, or click OK.

  3. Type net use in the Command prompt and press Enter.

  4. The command prompt displays the UNC paths that your computer is mapped to. Click here for instructions on attaching directories.

For example:  Instead of attaching a directory to the drive letter T:, attach the directory to the UNC path of \\file2\Drive_T.
