Pointing an existing domain name to your Inspector XSite
This document explains how to point an existing external domain name to your Inspector XSite.

This document is meant for Inspector XSite customers. If you have an Appraiser XSite, click here for steps to point an existing domain to your Appraiser XSite.
We have two ways for you to have your XSite hosted on a domain you've purchased separately. If you don't have email currently hosted on your domain, you can use our Advanced Setup. Or, if you are already hosting e‑mail on your domain, use our Preferred Setup so that's it's not disrupted.
Before getting started, you'll need to retrieve your account login info for the domain control panel. For most, this is the login for their registrar (i.e. GoDaddy, Network Solutions, Register.com. etc) but if you got your domain from a previous website provider, you may need to contact them for this information.
It can take up to a few days for the rest of the web to recognize you've changed your domain settings. This is normal for any website and not under our control.
Additionally, pointing your domain to your XSite will not result in a la mode taking over your domain's management. You'll still be responsible for renewing it separately with the company from whom you purchased it.
Due to the differences in all of the various registrar's systems, our support technicians are not able to assist you with this process. If you have questions about where to enter the following information, please contact your registrar.
The following instructions change your domain hosting to your XSite. If you already have email configured on your domain, see the Preferred setup panel below.
Start by accessing your DNS configuration tools at your registrar's website. You should have a Login ID and Password from when you first signed up with them. From there, change the settings on your domain to those listed below.

It takes 24 to 48 hours for your name server changes to propagate throughout the Internet. Once you start the transfer process in the XSites Wizard, our servers check every couple of hours to see if the change has been registered with the rest of the world. Once the change is made, we'll send an e‑mail to the address listed in your customer account.
After 10 days, if we can't detect changes were made with your registrar, we'll send an e‑mail notifying you that the domain transfer was cancelled. In the event the domain transfer is cancelled, make sure your registrar made the necessary changes and then re‑submit the domain.

Once complete, you must send an e‑mail to email@example.com to notify us of your changes, so we can configure our servers to respond to requests for your domain. Be sure to include your Customer Number and your domain name.
