Importing/Exporting Loan Apps

XSites Desktop, like your XSite's online loan management system, gives you the ability to easily port loans from your XSite into your LOS of choice. Given the popularity of Calyx Point, we do, of course, offer specialized integration to Calyx Point users, but regardless of your LOS system, you can still push loans out to your LOS or add loans to your XSite from your LOS using Fannie Mae's industry standard Desktop Originator/Desktop Underwriter file format.

Importing Loan Apps

If you start a loan app in your LOS and you want to add it to your XSite so that you can manage the customer's status and overall experience through your XSite's customer interaction tools, you can export it from your LOS and then import it directly into your XSite through the loan apps plugin in your XSites Desktop. To do so...

  1. You first need to export the loan file from your LOS. If you're using Calyx Point as your LOS, there's no need to export the file as XSites Desktop can import Calyx Point loan files directly. For other LOS's this process varies, but, in general, you need to export the file as a Fannie Mae DO/DU 3.2 file format. In many LOS systems, you can find the tools you need to export your loan file in the File menu of the program. For specific details on this process, consult your LOS manufacturer's user guide.
  2. Once you have a Fannie Mae DO/DU (or Calyx Point format) file to import, from XSites Desktop click the loan file icon and click Import from the menu.
  3. In the screen that appears, browse out to your Fannie Mae DO/DU or Calyx Point file, click to select it, and then click Open.

XSites Desktop immediately imports the file and sends it up to your XSite for additional management.

Exporting Loan Apps Manually

To manually export an XSite loan file to your LOS...

  1. From XSites Desktop's loan management tools, click a loan file you want to export.
  2. Then, click the loan file icon and select Export form the menu.
  3. In the window that appears, browse out to the folder where you wish to save your file and type a name for your file into the File Name field.
  4. If you're using Calyx Point, you can save your exported file directly in Point's own BRW (Borrower) or PRS (Prospect) file format. Just select the Calyx Point file format from the Save as Type menu. Otherwise, if you're using another LOS, simply verify that Fannie Mae DO/DU is selected as the file type.

Hint:  For details on importing Fannie Mae DO/DU files into your LOS, see our Tech Doc on the matter at http://help.alamode.com/docs/los/.
