Requesting ID Verification

While SureDocs is inherently much more secure than traditional e-mail as a way of delivering sensitive financial documents, the single most secure way of delivering the documents is to restrict access to those documents only to those that can verify their identities. SureDocs optional ID verification allows you to require your customers to verify their identity by answering a handful of questions about their credit history. This type of identity verification is nearly 100% accurate.   And, because this feature is provided as a service from Equifax, your signer’s credit is not affected in any way.  To request ID verification on any documents you deliver...

  1. First, initiate the SecureReceipts delivery process by requesting e-signatures or hand signatures.
  2. In the delivery screens, check the box next to Verify Identity and link beside it to purchase as many identity verifications as you need.
  3. Then, just complete the delivery process to send the documents and verify your clients' identities before collecting signatures.

For additional information about your clients' identity verification process, see The Collection Process in this user's guide.

Note:  By definition a "soft inquiry" to one's credit is an instance in which credit reports are accessed without affecting the credit rating of the individuals in question. Soft inquiries include your own requests for your personal credit report, promotional inquiries by credit card companies, and "checkup" inquiries by your existing creditors.
