Importing Online Loan Applications into Your LOS
Revised 10/16/2008 LD1

Your Mortgage XSite or FlexApp 1003 give you the ability to export any loan application so that you can quickly and easily import it into your favorite LOS. Since Fannie Mae's Desktop Originator / Desktop Underwriter (DO/DU) format is the most common format for this type of process and since most LOS systems can import from that format, we use that as the medium for integrating with your LOS.

This document explains how to import a Fannie Mae DO/DU file into Calyx Point, Genesis, Encompass, Contour, or Byte. Depending on the version of your LOS, these steps may vary slightly so you should consult your LOS's documentation for exact steps if these differ from those provided here.

With the exception of Calyx Point and Byte, before you can import a loan app from your XSite or FlexApp 1003 into your LOS, you must first export it. For specific instructions on that process, see the steps below.

Then, once you've exported your app to a file, choose your LOS from the list below and specific steps for your LOS will appear in below.

To import your Fannie Mae DO/DU file into Encompass...

  1. Start the Encompass LOS program.
  2. If the Pipeline tab isn’t the current active tab, click Pipeline.
  3. Click the Import button in the upper right corner of the screen.

  1. In the screen that appears, mark the Fannie Mae 3.x option and click Continue.
  2. Browse out to the folder in which you stored the Fannie Mae (.FNM) file you exported from your XSite.  When you find it, click it to select it.
  3. Click Import to import the file.

  1. Once the file has been successfully imported, you receive a message indicating a success.  Simply click OK to continue.

The file is now in Encompass.  From here, work with the file as you would any other.
