Importing Online Loan Applications into Your LOS
Revised 10/16/2008 LD1

Your Mortgage XSite or FlexApp 1003 give you the ability to export any loan application so that you can quickly and easily import it into your favorite LOS. Since Fannie Mae's Desktop Originator / Desktop Underwriter (DO/DU) format is the most common format for this type of process and since most LOS systems can import from that format, we use that as the medium for integrating with your LOS.

This document explains how to import a Fannie Mae DO/DU file into Calyx Point, Genesis, Encompass, Contour, or Byte. Depending on the version of your LOS, these steps may vary slightly so you should consult your LOS's documentation for exact steps if these differ from those provided here.

With the exception of Calyx Point and Byte, before you can import a loan app from your XSite or FlexApp 1003 into your LOS, you must first export it. For specific instructions on that process, see the steps below.

Then, once you've exported your app to a file, choose your LOS from the list below and specific steps for your LOS will appear in below.

Choose Your LOS

To import your Fannie Mae DO/DU file into Contour...

  1. Start the Loan Handler for the Contour LOS program.
  2. In the Open Borrower window, click the Close button on the right to close the screen.
  3. Once the screen is closed, you return to the main Contour window.  From there, click Utilities, Import DU Files from the menus.

  1. In the screen that appears, click Browse and navigate out to the Fannie Mae (.FNM) file you saved from your XSite.
  2. When you find it, click it to select it and click OK.
  3. Click Import to import the file.

  1. Finally, click OK on the confirmation message that appears to close the import screen and begin work on your file.

From here, work with the file as you would any other.
