Importing Online Loan Applications into Your LOS
Revised 10/16/2008 LD1

Your Mortgage XSite or FlexApp 1003 give you the ability to export any loan application so that you can quickly and easily import it into your favorite LOS. Since Fannie Mae's Desktop Originator / Desktop Underwriter (DO/DU) format is the most common format for this type of process and since most LOS systems can import from that format, we use that as the medium for integrating with your LOS.

This document explains how to import a Fannie Mae DO/DU file into Calyx Point, Genesis, Encompass, Contour, or Byte. Depending on the version of your LOS, these steps may vary slightly so you should consult your LOS's documentation for exact steps if these differ from those provided here.

With the exception of Calyx Point and Byte, before you can import a loan app from your XSite or FlexApp 1003 into your LOS, you must first export it. For specific instructions on that process, see the steps below.

Then, once you've exported your app to a file, choose your LOS from the list below and specific steps for your LOS will appear in below.

Choose Your LOS

Byte Pro offers direct integration with your XSite. To import your Fannie Mae DO/DU file into Byte you must first set up a connection to your XSite in Byte.

  1. Start the Byte program.
  2. Click Customize, Defaults from the menus (if you're using an older update of Byte, Defaults may be in the Tools menu).
  3. Click Mortgage XSites in the panel on the left.
  4. Enter your XSite Username and Password. Then, click Find Domains.
  5. If prompted, select the appropriate XSite from the list presented and click Select.
  6. Type in a frequency (in minutes) with which you want Byte to check your site for new loans. Then, click Close.

Once the integration has been set up, you can import loans from your XSite into Byte and even send them to your XSite from Byte.

To import loans from your XSite into Byte...

  1. In Byte, click Tools, Import, XSite Loans from the menus.
  2. In the screen that appears, click Search.
  3. Check the box beside each loan app you wish to import from your XSite and then click Next.

  4. As necessary, assign the Loan Officer, Loan Processor, and Other User. Then, click Next.
  5. By default, Byte retains the XSite loan status. If you wish to use a Byte loan status instead, select one of the Assign options provided.

  6. Click Import to import the loan apps and then click OK.

To export loans from Byte to your XSite...

  1. In a file in Byte, click Mortgage XSites in the panel on the left.

  2. Then, click Upload in the screen that appears.

Once you've either uploaded an app to your XSite or downloaded it from your XSite, you can download attached documents from the XSite by clicking Refresh in the document list for your loan app. Again, to access the loan app details for your Byte loan, simply click Mortgage XSites in the left panel of Byte inside an active loan.
