Configure Calyx Point to Order Appraisals through Your XSite

The Calyx Point system for mortgage originators comes complete with an interface that allows you to easily place electronic appraisal orders through your an appraiser's website.

This process reduces the duplicate data entry that often accompanies electronic appraisal orders and streamlines the ordering process to help speed up the appraisal process. In addition to less typing, both you and your appraiser gain the benefits of electronic status messaging and order delivery.

You may see "Mercury Network" in some of the screens since that was the previous name for our XSites Network.

  
 

 

This document explains how to order an appraisal from an appraiser who is using an Appraiser XSite. Since Calyx Point integrates with Appraiser XSites, you can place an order directly through Calyx instead of requesting it through the appraiser's website.


Creating a Client Account

Before you install the Calyx tools, you should first create an account on your appraiser's website. Just visit the appraiser's website, click the Order an Appraisal and fill out your contact details to create an account. Or, just ask your preferred appraiser to create the account for you.


Installing the Ordering Tools

  1. Open or create a borrower or prospect file in Calyx Point.
     
  Note: The ordering system only displays appraisers that appraise in the same area that the subject property is located.  
     
  1. Click Interfaces in the toolbar and choose Appraisals…
  2. Click the entry for a la mode, inc. Mercury Network and then click Install…  Your system will go online and download the setup for the XSites Network integration.

  1. Click Run in the window that appears. If a security warning pops up asking if you're sure that you want to run this installation file, click Run again.
  2. A setup wizard starts to guide you through the installation. Simply follow the steps that walk you through the installation, clicking Next between each step.  When the installation is complete, click Finish.


Placing an Order & Configuring a Favorites List

  1. With the Calyx file open, choose the Appraisals... option in the Interfaces menu.
  2. Click a la mode, inc. Mercury Network. Then, click Send Data. Point takes you online to a special section of the XSites Network designed for Calyx Point users.
  3. Click the XSites Network Appraisal Order option.

Calyx Interface with Favorites

  1. When the list of appraisers appears, browse through it to locate your favorite appraisal company.
  2. Click the Favorites icon for your company, then click Order an Appraisal.

Select an appraiser from the list

  1. When appraiser's website appears, enter the Username and Password for your account on the appraiser's website and click Next.
     
  Hint: If you want to change the password for your account, see Tech Doc 5736 - Changing Client Login Passwords.  
     
  1. Fill out the details of the order and then click Next to place the order.
  2. As necessary, use the Related Documents tools to submit information about the order directly to the appraiser.

The next time you use the Calyx interface to place an order, you'll see your preferred appraisal company in your list of favorite appraisers.
