Since releasing the new Vendor Integration Platform, a handful of customers have reported the error: "A file used to launch your legacy sketcher has been altered, which is keeping your sketcher from operating in an integrated mode. Would you like WinTOTAL to automatically correct this issue?". We've already corrected the issue with an update posted on November 16, 2006. Just get your updates, and the problem will be solved.
Now, start WinTOTAL, and try Apex again. WinTOTAL might prompt you to select the sketcher that you want to use as well as Registering Apex. Please go through the process and then Apex will open correctly. If you're still experiencing the problem after downloading the November 16 update, there's a small chance the update didn't install correctly. (Other symptoms of an update not fully installing are error messages that occur directly after starting WinTOTAL or while opening a file.) We have a utility built into WinTOTAL that will allow you to easily reinstall one or more updates.
