Dimensions and Site Areas Disappear from the Major Form (Athena Only)
Document 4519
Revised 4/24/2006 LD1

The site dimension and area figures are not actually disappearing, but are being overwritten by another calculation. These figures change or disappear when data (numbers, letters or blanks) is transferred in from another part of the report.

This document explains how to change this setting to control transfers into the form.

The site dimension and area figures are not actually disappearing, but are being overwritten by another calculation. These figures change or disappear when data (numbers, letters or blanks) is transferred in from another part of the report. There are three ways site dimensions and site area figures are placed into a report.

  • Manually, by typing the in the figures
  • By importing the figures from Apex (or WinSketch, if you are still using that sketching program.)
  • By importing the text from the Sketch Configuration screen.

Site dimensions and site area figures manually entered in the form are being overwritten by data from either the Sketch Configuration screen or Apex. Opening the report or jumping from the major form to another form and back triggers the transfer that overwrites the manually entered figures. To determine where the figures are transferring from...

  1. Open your report in WinTOTAL.
  2. Click the Sketch PowerView.
  3. If there is a check mark in the Transfer site information into forms box, verify the figures are correct in the Site Area grid. If not, this is where the problem is occurring. To correct the problem, enter the correct figures into the grid.
  4. If blank entries are transferring to the form, remove the check mark in the Transfer blank site info into forms box. A blank entry will transfer just as one containing figures would.

  5. If a comment such as "See attached sketch" appears in the dimensions field, and you would prefer to have the actual dimensions in the major form:
  • Click the Tools menu and scroll to Configure.
  • Down arrow at the bottom of the column on the left to Sketch. Click it. This will cause the Sketch Configuration screen to open.
  • Click the Apex Options tab.
  • Blank out any text written in the Dimensions field. Click OK.

Your dimensions and site areas will not blank out or change any further.
