Credit Card Setup

 
     

Before you can start processing credit cards, you first need a bank account that is equipped to handle credit card transactions, called a "merchant account." Of course, if you already have a merchant account, you're free to use that with your XSite as well, but we do recommend reviewing the Kirkpatrick Bank merchant accounts as they are typically less expensive than conventional merchant accounts.


     
 

Signing Up for a Merchant Account

 
     

To sign up for a new merchant account...

  1. In your XSite hover over Business Management and click Credit Card.
  2. Then, click the Click here link in the first step to bring up the merchant account application.
  3. Use the fields in the application to fill in your information. Then, when finished, print out and sign the application.
  4. Click the Click here link in the third step and print out the cover page that appears.
  5. Now, just fax the application and the cover sheet you printed to 1-866-704-6542 using the cover sheet as the cover page.
  6. Your application will be processed within 20 business days. Once it's accepted, return to the credit card area of your XSite and it will prompt you for your merchant account information. Just enter the information provided in Kirkpatrick Bank's acceptance notice and click Send.

Once you've submitted your merchant account information, we will activate your credit card tools. While the exact timeframe varies, typically, we enable the credit card tools within four or five business days.

 

     
 

Using Your Current Merchant Account

 
     

To use your existing merchant account...

  1. In your XSite hover over Business Management and click Credit Card.
  2. Click the Click here link in the bottom Already have a merchant account? section.
  3. Enter your merchant account information and click Send.

Once you've submitted your merchant account information, we will activate your credit card tools. While the exact timeframe varies, typically, we enable the credit card tools within four or five business days.

 

     
  Note: All cards charged using the XSite interface are processed through TSYS, formerly known as Vital or VisaNet. If your merchant account is compatible with TSYS, then it should integrate with your XSite. Your merchant account provider might ask what Gateway software we use - it's Verifone's RiTA Server version 3.0.4.
