Import Sketches

If you want to import a sketch that you initially created in Apex there are several ways to do so.

Note:  In order to edit Apex sketches in DaVinci, you must own a copy of DaVinci Desktop Pro or DaVinci Mobile Pro. The Standard versions of DaVinci are not capable of editing Apex sketches.

Import from WinTOTAL

  1. In WinTOTAL's Sketch PowerView, click Import Sketch in the top toolbar.
  2. In the window that appears, browse to the report containing the Apex or DaVinci sketch you wish to import.
  3. Click to select the report containing the sketch you wish to import. Then, click Import.

WinTOTAL imports the sketch into your report. If the sketch is an Apex sketch that you wish to convert to DaVinci format, ensure that DaVinci is set as your preferred sketcher and simply edit the sketch file.

Import from DaVinci

  1. With a blank sketch open in DaVinci, click File, Import Sketch.
  2. Browse out to the DaVinci sketch file (.dsk), WinTOTAL file containing a sketch (.zap), or Apex sketch file (.ax2, .ax3, or .ax4) you wish to import.
  3. Click to select the sketch file and then click Open.

DaVinci imports the sketch and, if it's an Apex sketch, converts it to DaVinci format.

Drag & Drop Import

DaVinci also supports drag and drop file imports. If you know the location of the sketch file or WinTOTAL report containing the sketch file you wish to import on your computer, just browse out to that folder on your computer's hard drive (in Windows) and then drag and drop the sketch file or WinTOTAL report file onto an empty sketch in DaVinci. DaVinci imports the sketch and, if it's an Apex sketch, converts it to DaVinci format.
